J-Lo is a Wise Woman!

I don't generally get caught up in celebrity hype or gossip. Typically, I avoid the avalanche of celebrity love and fandom that is out there for the latest and greatest.

I do have a few exceptions.

I often find myself admiring different traits in well known celebrities and public figures.

For instance, I admire the intelligence, drive, determination, and journey of women like Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama.  I admire the work ethic of Beyonce.  I admire trailbrazers and their bravery, like Ursula Burns who was the first black CEO of a fortune 500 company.

Recently, a friend encouraged me to watch Oprah Winfrey's interview with Jennifer Lopez.

I've never been a huge fan - I can appreciate her talent, and the way she has risen from being a background dancer on television to a multi-faceted celebrity, but I never thought much more about her or considered her one of my "sheroes".

After watching her interview though, I've added her to my list.

She talked a lot about really discovering who she was, and all of the things that happened in order for her to get where she is now. She talked about the marriages and engagements, and learning to love herself and be on her own.  She's discovered that where she is right now is better than any other time of her life, and she's embracing each part of her life at 50 years old.

It made me think about where I am, where my clients are, and where I know so many of you are.

Most of us are at the point where we've done all of the things "they" said we should in order to have a good life.

We've gotten the education and started the career.  We've had the relationships, the marriage, and had the children.  We've had success, and we've experienced failures.  We've done all that we thought we were supposed to do, and yet there is still an emptiness.

If this is you, I want to offer this to you.  The best of your life is not behind you - it's in front of you.  Whatever you are holding onto as the best part of your life, was just a warm up, and you have all the ability to make this a reality.

Okay - I know you're like "Girl....come on now, you don't know what my life is like now!"

Doesn't matter.  You can make the decision right now, that this next phase of your life is going to be your best ever.  That you will have all of the things God has promised to you, and that you will live a TEN life.

Then you get to work in making that a reality.  Nothing and nobody has to change in your life for this to happen - ONLY YOU.

It starts with examining the thoughts you have about you, your life, the people in your life, the experiences, choices and circumstances.  There are some things that you have believed to be true about all of that for years, and it is doing you no good.  It isn't serving you in living the life you really want, and it isn't moving you to be the woman God called you to be.

Are you willing to be wrong about yourself in order to be that woman?  Are you willing to question and examine every thought - take every single one captive?  Are you then willing to change those thoughts to ones that line up with God's Word, and propel you into your purpose?

If so, I can guarantee that while everyone else is cancelling 2020, it will be the year that changed everything for you.

Do your work now, and the rest of your life will be the best of your life!
