When Everything Is Not Okay

If this year and this season have been really hard for you, this episode is for you. Today, I'm talking about what to do when everything doesn't feel okay. It's almost the end of 2023, a year that has been challenging for me personally and in my business. I know that many of you have also been dealing with grief, anger, sadness, and even hopelessness.

It's time for all of us to collectively learn how to get through tough times and come out stronger on the other side. Challenges and struggles are normal, and so are the feelings they evoke. I'll share how to work through your emotions and feelings without reacting negatively.

Episode Highlights:

  • [02:00] You are allowed to feel whatever you feel.

  • [03:15] Release the need to compare struggles or edit and correct the feelings you are having.

  • [04:07] Most people allow themselves to respond from negative emotions as if there was no other choice.

  • [05:31] You'll start seeing a big shift when you decide to no longer be a puppet to your emotions.

  • [05:54] Look at the circumstances that make you feel like things aren't okay. Get out all of the thoughts. These are real and valid feelings.

  • [06:50] It's okay to not be okay all of the time. We want to feel, acknowledge, and process, but not respond.

  • [08:19] Talk about the worst-case scenario and what would happen if things got worse. Feel the feelings of what this would mean if it really happened.

  • [09:04] The light at the end of the tunnel is that by facing your fear, it no longer has a grip on you.

  • [09:27] What would you do if your worst-case scenario became a reality?

  • [11:08] After facing the negative emotions, what is your next step?

  • [13:35] Commit to riding the emotional roller coaster.

  • [14:06] If you don't feel okay right now, that's okay.

  • [14:51] Find small pockets of joy and peace and write those moments down.
